TO ALL FIFTH GRADE FAMILIES!
Your fifth grader will soon graduate from Emerson completing another year of education, growth and change. The 5th grade experience is the last grade of elementary school in which each student works on developing his or her self awareness, gaining knowledge and setting goals.
On Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 6-8 PM, we will celebrate this rite of passage with an evening of conversation with your son or daughter. Some of the focus will be on physical changes during puberty, and myths and facts of that phase. WE NEED YOU TO BE HERE TO TAKE PART IN THIS CONVERSATION. The intent of this event is to promote and enhance self-esteem, parent/child communication, personal hygiene
and physical development.
The evening will start promptly at 6 pm with a chicken and waffle dinner being served. After dinner, students will gather with parents and guests will attend the workshop to start the conversation. The evening will close with gifts for each 5th grader as well
as a an opportunity to participate in a drawing for prizes!
If you, as a parent, are unable to attend, please send a responsible adult with your child such as an older sibling or relative that your child feels comfortable with. Childcare will be provided for younger sibilings if we have advance notice of your need.
