Classes will be canceled on Monday, October 27 and Tuesday, October 28

As we continue to assess the damage from the flood and begin repairs, the SPS Facilities team is actively working to transition classrooms to the Old Van Asselt (OVA) building. Today, Emerson teachers and staff visited OVA to tour and get acquainted with the building.

To give staff time to set up in the new space, classes are canceled on Monday, Oct. 27, and Tuesday, Oct. 28.

Classes will resume at Old Van Asselt, located at 7201 Beacon Ave S., for all elementary and Head Start students on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the regular start time.

Culinary services will continue to provide sack lunches available for pick up Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon at the same locations:

• Emerson Elementary (9709 60th Ave. S.)
• Lake Washington Apartments (9061 Seward Park Ave. S.)
